The service will generate a download link and send it inside an email message so that your receiver may collect the file. Optionally, you can set a date and a number of download after which your file will expire and password-protect your file.

    SendGenie is a free software for Windows and Mac users to send very large files right from your desktop in a drag and drop fashion. SendGenie can send one or multiple files of any kind at once, but no info is given on the maximum file size that you can transfer.

    Just download the software to your machine and drag and drop the file you want to send to the application window. Then type in the email address of your recipient. SendGenie will upload your file and send your recipient a download link to collect the file.

    FileChute is a paid software for Mac that allows you to transfer files of unlimited size to any computer on the web. FileChute requires an FTP or WebDAV-accessible web server to work. Apple MobileMe service is a suitable option as well.

    Once you associate FileChute with your web server, sending your large files will be completed with a simple drag and drop operation. Each upload file will then have a unique URL that you cna share via email, IM social network, in any way you like. FileChute is also available via an iPhone app ($2.99) and it is priced at $17.95 for a single-user license.

All files you upload are stored in your personal online space, secured with encryption and persistently backed up. Registration is required to utilize the service and a 30-day free trial is available for each paid plan.
